still no news on the house :(
but here is a cool site my friend rolf found

I am too much of a wreck to blog, and I am sure I will be for a while. We just found out there is another offer on the home we want to purchase. So who knows what the outcome will be. I will probably be sane by Monday so enjoy the weekend.

cranberry sauce with orange

Yes this week is all about Thanksgiving. So enjoy yet another recipe.

cranberry sauce with orange for 10 (or 6 with leftovers)

12 oz fresh cranberries
1/2 an orange zested
2 cinnamon sticks
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. orange juice

In a medium sized saucepan combine all ingredients over high heat and add 1/2 c of water or more until the cranberries are covered. Once the mixture is brought to a boil, reduce the heat to med low and let simmer for an hour or until thick.

Let the mixture cool and refrigerate it in an air tight container.

If you have leftovers, my favorite thing to do is make a turkey cranberry panini.
Just layer leftover turkey, mozzarella slices, and cranberry sauce on bread and press in a griddle or pannini press to get things nice and toasty. Its a must with my family.

side dish three

what is thanksgiving without stuffing?! this is the recipe my family has used at every thanksgiving, and my dad won't have it any other way. i don't blame him either it's delicious!

strain family stuffing for 6

1 loaf white bread (i'm going to try an italian crusty loaf this year, but we usually use plain ol' white bread)
3/4 c. butter (1.5 sticks)
1 chopped onion
4 stalks chopped celery
2 tsp. poultry seasoning
salt and pepper to taste
1 c. chicken broth

Tip: when chopping the veggies and bread cubes make them equal sizes. you don't want huge chunks of celery with small chunks of bread. that's just annoying and someone could choke out of sheer surprise that there were huge celery chunks in their stuffing. i made that up...

How To:

Let the bread air dry for 2hrs or you can toast both sides lightly under the broiler.
Cut into cubes.
In a large saucepan melt butter, add onion, celery, and seasonings. cook until soft
Stir in bread cubes and chicken broth.

Make the day before and chill. then the day of stuff the turkey with it or bake in a dish at 350 for 30-40 min.

side dish two

haricots verts with bacon. what do you do to a healthy side dish on thanksgiving? add bacon!

side dish one

mashed potatoes are a staple in kevin's diet, so i usually experiment with my mashed potato recipes from year to year for thanksgiving. here is the one i am going to try this year.

guerrilla marketing

it's that time of year where pat gives us a nice mental break from the project we have been laboring over all semester. i know that the photoshopping might need some work, but this is what i have for now.

so i finally got my gocco printer in the mail today, and guess what... the usps man/ woman knocked once and immediatly left leaving a note on my door. I WAS HOME!!! i took less than 10 sec to get to the door and they were already gone. now i have to wait a day to go pick it up from the post office. blurg.

but on a good note, i will be house shopping this weekend. which means a ton of pics to share with you all, as well as some future interior design inspiration as i fix up the place :)

damien weighill

Some really great, and very hilarious stuff from damien weighill

Ok... so this last one's a little messed up, but Jesus has a sense of humor too.

these are some of the comps i've come up with for my awkward greeting cards series. let me know your thoughts. I decided I needed to use the poopy puppy somewhere.

a neat gift idea for the person that eats, sleeps, and showers with ear buds in. ( i don't recommend the shower idea)

wedding invites

Here is the final comp of the wedding invites I have been working on. The bride is very happy, especially now that they are getting married in the right year, hah I can't believe I missed that! Now I am working on a directions page and envelope.

christmas ideas

i'm already ready for christmas time! especially since me and kevin's gift to eachother is our first house. here are some of the christmas things i've found around that inspire me.

silke werzinger

So I bought a gocco printer last night on e-bay. I will let you all know how that goes, aka I will probably find a way to burn the apt down while exposing the screen...

Anyways, my friend elisa turned me on to this awesome illustrator from nurnberg. thanks dude!

ok seriously

i NEED a gocco machine. watch this how to video from paper source and let me know where I can get one!! I had no idea this thing even existed, i'm so out of the cool print making tools loop.

luxe deluxe

i want all of these! please buy them for me :)

eleanor grosch

went to dsvc last night to hear eleanor grosch speak. we are very much alike in that our work uses only one or two colors, so it was nice to see that you can be successful that way. she was super fun and full of great advice. so go visit her at push me pull you design and  at gig posters
